Ever at a holiday party and that crazy drunk uncle comes at you with the butcher’s knife? Been driving through the snow when Rudolf the red nosed serial killer drops from the sky and ruins that silent night with a rondel? How do you know that Elf on the Shelf isn’t making a prison shank out of that 10 year old stall candy cane you keep putting back in the decorations!! Let us not even mention the mini clay elementals masquerading as innocent spinning dreidels. Well, naughty sword wielding sword family…I am here to give you the skills to not only defend your roasted chestnuts, but make them quack in their ugly sweaters. It is my pleasure to announce that on Monday, in leu of our normal longsword class, I will be leading the school in a special DAGGER class. This class will not only be focused on actual dagger plays through out history (And I’ll tell you now that YES, they are all real) but also some that are absolutely jaw dropping and fun. I mean come on…You know that person who stole the perfect White Elephant gift really needs to have his mistletoe pruned. Class will be 90 minutes of what I hope is a fun break from our normal (Mostly) serious instruction. THIS IS FOR ALL STUDENTS AND VISITORS REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL. If you have a training rondel of any type please bring it. We will have as many loaners or simulators as possible for people to use. Hell, a lot of parry daggers would also work in a pinch. So grab your friends, drag your enemies, and scoff at the holiday cheer…This is Shanksmas and Gilding has come to town!!! I am hoping we can get everything sorted, arranged, and ready to learn by 8:20.  

The same COVID restrictions apply to the Saturday classes as they do to the regular weekday classes.  Open floor sparring, individual coaching time, review and practical application of last weeks class topics, and special topic classes.  Saturdays are a really good time to work on individual improvement and practice of topics that YOU want to go over.  If there are several people that want to work on the same thing, Gilding is more than happy to lead smaller classes.  We can/will also be using part of the day to talk about Sword and Buckler instruction that includes techniques against mixed weapons.  (Rapier, sidesword, longsword, etc.)
