Intro to Meyer Dussack

This will be a one time class only taught by guest instructors Wendy Marques and Jeff Jacobson from Tattershall School of Defense! Wendy is a former Maryland KdFer and we'll be so pleased to have her back!

This class will delve into the second book of Joachim Meyer's 1570 "Gründtliche Beschreibung der Kunst des Fechtens" or "The Art of Combat" which covers dussack. The dussack is, most notably, a training weapon for all single handed weapons, but also a sword in its own right. This one day class will cover all the basic cuts and guards of Meyer's dussack. 

At the end of the class, we have a very special tournament where you can use your newfound skills in dussack! There will be prizes for 1-4th places and there is an optional, but encouraged charity donation! All the proceeds will go to fund a memorial and recovery fund for a Tattershall member who recently passed at a young age of cancer, tragically leaving behind her husband and 5-year-old son.
